So when I'm not shopping I'm pinning, on Pinterest that is. Pinterest for me is like shopping without spending money. Shopping for the penniless, I'm in. (Don't judge me.) It helps me get the most out of what I already own. I wore this look in Santa Monica the other day, while...you guessed it, shopping.

Need more color in my life

So around this time last year I had just bought my first pair of colored pants. And I was hesitant. I mean colored jeans? What do u wear those with? Are they me?

Fast forward a year and I've totally changed my tone. I love colored pants. And I now own a few pairs. Meet the newest addition to my closet. These light coral jeans are prefect for spring and summer. And I'm still going. I have been searching high and low for a replacement for my beloved red jeans that are getting big. These jeans have gotten me through all four seasons and I hate to see them go.



I'm really loving these from J Crew but I'm not convinced they're the ones. Still taking applications.

The hunt for black pointed toe ballet flats began in early spring.  Figuring they were not a necessity in the summer months (I'm a big fan of flips flops and sandals), that gave me two seasons.  Two season come and gone and still no black flats in my closet.  I recently ordered the pair from Old Navy just to fill the void until the real deal comes along.  I mean seriously the most basic of things, how hard can it be to find the ONE?

Now that October is here I can really start thinking about Fall/Winter wardrobe.  I just bought a pair of similar booties in taupe see here and I love them so much that I feel the need to have a pair in black (nothing wrong with that). Everything else is pretty much basics except for the ring which OMG I can not stop thinking about. What's on your list this Fall?  Thanks for reading. 

Wear It Out Wednesdays (kelly green)

It's going to be yet another HOT summer day, clothes stare back at me, some even raise their hand  (ok sleeve) high in anticipation of actually seeing daylight. I grab my kelly green shorts (yet again) leaving the rest of my closet seething in jealousy. This is the way most of August went.

I'm beginning a new series where I show you what I have on repeat. I'll pick an item or two each time and show how I'm wearing it out.

I got these kelly green shorts shortly after I realized that it was way too hot to wear my beloved red jeans everyday, and they quickly found their way into my heart (ok my closet, are the two really so different?) I wish I could keep styling them into fall but I just don't see myself layering them with tights. So I guess I'll just have to buy something else in the color kelly green. 

Oh and the Starbucks? I'm officially addicted to Starbucks, (and the straw is kinda kelly green)

Fall(ing) In Love With Jewel Tones

With the arrival of New York Fashion Week inspiration lurks at every corner. This fall it's all about rich hues like deep purples, red wines, sumptuous olives, burnt mustard tones, and rich browns. They liven up any outfit and add that perfect pop of color while still being appropriately subdued for the cooler months. Not to mention they photograph incredibly well against fall's fiery canvas. All it takes is one or two peices of color to bring an outfit from has been to in the now. From accessories, to colored denim and everything in between, (like nail polish for those of us not so daring) these peices are making me wish fall's crisp chill was already upon us.
